Next Steps

So, Fitness Universe was not a very good experience for me. I had some unexpected issues (my costume blended into the background, a touch down on a skill I've had forever, and a fot cramp throughout the routine round) but I've decided to look forward.

I am moving along with my fitness Podcast so keep your eyes out for that in the next few weeks.

I am redesigning my fitness website as we speak.

I am working and performing at Cathy Savage's Fitness Camp in Chicago with Nicole Moneer Gurerro and company, July 18-20.

To compete or not to compete, that is the question. I am still debating whether I will compete in the Kumita Classic Memorial Day weekend, and if I will compete at Fitness Universe in June.

Fitness Atlantic Update

So today would be the day of my first competition of the year, but I've decided to push that back some. I was right on track with my training and routine, however, I just needed to step back for a moment and consider what is the most important thing in my life right now. Preparing for my wedding is my number one priority now. I will be competing in 2008, but have not yet decided if I will be flying to Fitness Universe in June or October for Fitness America Midwest in Palatine, IL.

Currently, I am working on my fitness podcast, designing and developing a new website, and a few other fun, misc. projects.

Just kidding. Not BFF yet, but I was able to meet Monica Brant this morning at the Grand Opening of Capitol Nutrition in Naperville. She was as sweet as pie (not knowing how sweet Pie, actually I've never had pie).

After waiting for 4 hours with three of my best friends, Kelli, Beth and Molly (respectively in picture) we finally got to see the taping of Wheel of Fortune at Navy Pier in Chicago. Watch April 30, 2008 to see if you see us in the crowd. Even though it was a LONG day, we all still had a blast. Thank you Molly and Kelli for sharing your tickets!

Arnold Classic Weekend Exposed

Life at the Arnold Classis Weekend is going great! I've ran into many friends in the fitness world and met some of my "fitness idols". Pictured here is Staci Boyer and I after we ran in to Heather Green in the ladies restroom. I guess you never know when you're going to run into someone.

Staci Boyer was a key guest to speak on a panel for the Chiropractic Convention taking place during the Arnold weekend. She did fantastic!

I want to congratulate Jen Hendershott for a beautiful routine and a great second place finish! You rock Jen!

Happy New Year! What an incredible time to set new goals and set yourself into high gear. I love this time of year because I like to evaluate my experiences I had and develop a plan on how I can improve myself, in all areas of life.

I am lucky enough to have been selected as a fitness model for the Fashion Show at the Arnold Classic. I can't wait to see you all there. Please stop by and say hello!

The off-season - it is a blessing and a curse. I personally am enjoying some time "off" where I still work out (but at a more reasonable level) and keep a fairly clean diet. I am working with some ideas for 2008 already, so watch out for next season! To some of my Chicago girls, Camp Savage was a blast and we definitely need to get together more often. We all share so much in common!

Stacy takes 9th place overall at Fitness Universe

Fitness Universe was a complete blast! I ended up placing 9th overall and with a 4th place routine score!!!! I am very pleased. The women there were incredible, so nice and so beautiful.

Let me take a moment to spread some love to my friend Staci Boyer, who rocked it out in the Bikini Classic division!!! She was gorgeous, and more than that, she was captivating to watch. Congrats Staci, on your 2nd place finish in your first major contest!

Hey everyone. Fitness Universe is only 2 weeks away and it is crunch time. I am truly pleased with my routine (thank you Cathy Savage!) and my diet and training is going great. Even though I know many of you can't make it down to Miami, Fitness Universe is going to be streaming live online. Also, this year they have opened a feature to vote online for your favorite fitness competitor ;)

Hello all. I am nine weeks out from Fitness Universe and routine practice is going great! I have some very difficult skills this year and am confident it will all come together even better than the previous years. I cannot wait to compete with such legends as Dawn Butterfield, Sherry V, Allison E. and plenty more. I have looked up to these amazing women for the last few years (and still do).

Staci Boyer (future Ms. Bikini Classic) and I have been on a heavy lifting program with little cardio (to help build muscle). The only cardio I am getting at this stage is from routine practice. This will change as Miami gets closer. I will keep you posted on my contest prep so check back often.

Favorite Meal Today = Breakfast:
4 egg whites with tomato
1/2 cup oatmeal dry with Splenda Brown Sugar

Routine Practice Highlight:

Favorite Moment of the Day:
Getting a Thank You card from a new co-worker after kicking off our first project together (I worked from 6:15am - 11:30pm on Tuesday to get this project finished). Thank you Karyn- I really appreciate your thoughtfulness.

The 2007 Mid-Illinois Bodybuilding Championship has wrapped up. I placed 2nd in a tough line up of fantastic figure competitors! It was one of my favorite competitions to date because the women were all so nice and I got to compete along side my good friend Staci Boyer, who rocked the short class and placed second as well! Go team tight! Competition photos have been added to the Gallery.

I am preparing now for Fitness Universe in June. I went to the gym today for routine element practice and everything went very well. I cannot wait to kick it into high gear when I get back from vacation in a week.

Second, the fashion show at the Arnold Fitness Weekend was a blast. We "worked it" to the best of our ability and got to meet and interact with many people in the fitness business. I would like to thank Jen Hendershott for having me in her show. You rock Jen!!!

Good news!!! I am going to the Arnold! This year I will take part in Jen Hendershott's fashion show on Sunday, March 4, 2007. I look forward to this event as well as the rest of the activities that weekend.

My training partner, Staci, has motivated me to begin training for the NPC Mid-Illinois Figure show on March 31. "Team Tight" has been a blast. I am excited to kick off the competition season so early this year.

Happy 2007! This year will be action packed and very exciting. I look forward to training and competing with some great friends I have met along the way.
